Thanks for all the great pictures and info. Now it sounds like most people would stay away from blocks and spacers (thanks for the advice). I was looking at the Toytec site and they offer obviously the high end options. But they also offer this:

Now 98% of my driving is on pavement and I really don't plan on jumping sand dunes in Baja. Would this suit my needs as a solid midrange option? As far, as changing the ride, what does it actually do? Is the ride just stiffer? Now, I had a '99 4Runner and loved the ride on that, admittedly much stiffer than my '13 Tacoma. 4x4active, geekhouse23, and TacoMaui95 your rides have the overall look I'm eventually going for.

I personally have front spacer and rear blocks. Its in my truck a few days I got her home. Still running strong and only cost me about $130. Installed it myself. Of course you wont see me jumping off the dunes or doing real flex offroading. Its my daily driver and I take her offroading to my fishing spot on the weekend. Work great for me. A bit harsher ride but I like it. Price is low. Still waiting for the shock to break so I can upgrade to a full OME lol

Most people here will tell you to go full 5100. Which cost about $384 on Amazon. The front you can set it to 2.5" lift and it use your stock coil spring. The back 5100 wont give you any lift so you have to add a block or add a leaf.

Here is a better option and the full 5100 I am talking about.

Its really up to you and what you ride with the truck. Spacer and block fit perfectly for me with no issue. But I would recommend installing it yourself or get a friend to help. So you can replace them in the future for a few can of beers.

Spacer and block will give you a harsher ride. Its fine with me. I dont run over speed bump or feet on the paddle when offroading.

The 5100.. There are people say it also give harsh ride and there are some said it give a bit better ride quality.

The stock you have ride now is probably the best your going to feel without spending a grand or so. But you will hardly notice the difference when driving on road. But when your off the road. You can feel the difference.

Being a prerunner as well.. I originally did 5100s front set at 1.75 and aal 1-2" in rear.. was a better ride over stock.. I then wanted little more lift so cranked 5100 up to 2.5 setting and added 1 in block in rear .. worst mistake I could have made.. going up that high I went over 3 inches in front being lighter than 4x4s.. so then purchased aftermarket upper control arms ..
