Anyone wanna teach me some wiring tricks? Pretty good mechanically just never messed around too much with automotive wiring.
Picked up a set of 6in LEDs that I want to set up for Aux reverse lighting, maybe even switched in the cab,and that's where the confusion starts.
Been reading lots of threads and feel pretty confident about trying it myself, just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone is local to me. Good excuse to have some beers outside when this cold snaps.

I see you have a 2013, not sure if the wiring changed but I have all the wiring diagrams from my 2010, I used them for various projects. I would think they should be similar.

This is how I mounted my aux reverse wiring, to be 3 options with a SPDT center off switch.
    1. on with stock reverse lights
    2. off
    3. on with the switch on

I'm not far from bucks county, be more than happy to lend a hand one weekend when it warms up.

Thanks Man I appreciate the offer! I may take you up on it. It's the switch that for some reason is messing me up. I have no problem just wiring in a relay to let them come on with the reverse lights only. Once I start thinking about the wiring of the switch, my brain seems to switch off for some reason. I'm sure it isn't as difficult as I'm overthinking it to be.

No problem, would be glad to meet another local Taco guy! You are def overthinking it, the circuit is super simple. As far as adding a relay, I used one that was already on the truck. If you have the towing package, there is already a reverse light relay called the "backup relay" for the 7 pin plug in the back. Here's where I tapped in in my 2010

If you don't have the towing package you have a few options. You can trigger a relay by tying directly into the reverse light switch off the transmission just as the towing package works, or you could tap off the hot wire of the reverse lights. If you tap off the reverse lights you will need to use a diode to prevent backfeeding the circuit though. Hope this helps
