I`m going to be taking a 2013 Tacoma SR5 4x4 (dlb cab, long box) for a test drive on Monday. I`ve been doing some research on the trucks, and think it will suit my needs perfect.

Just wondering if any current or past owners of the 2013`s could share any advice on anything specific I need to pay attention for during the test drive?

    Thank in advance.

    - Cheers

    '13 TRD (OffRoad, 4x4)
SOS Rocksliders, All Pro skid plate, Procomp add-a-leaf, Bilstein 5100 @ 1.75", CB, high-lift jack
Assuming it is still all factory stock:

    1) Some people are harder on 4x4's than others, look for leeks around the shocks (front and rear)

    2) Look at the condition of the skid plates. They will be a good sign of how much abuse the truck has taken.

    3) On the rear differential there is a large nut facing the back. This is for your diff fluid. If this area appears wet or stained it is a good sign the owner did his/her how own services and not necessarily correctly. (probably just a bad crush washer, but could indicate cutting corners on things the owner considers "small").

    4) Look at the fuse box. Any "additional" wiring should be noted and questioned.

These are all general guides, not 2013 specific. I love my '13 DCSB and so far have had no issues. I would buy another one in a heart beat.
