Hey everyone, I've spent countless hours on this site researching suspension lifts and I feel like i am finally ready to pull the trigger. I decided to purchase the OME full suspension kit. A few things that I could really use an opinion on:

    Will I need new UCA's?
I can't really get a definitive answer and would like some sound backing as to why I would need them if the answer is yes. I am under the impression that anything under 3" does not need new UCA's.

Should I expect vibration and the need for axle shims???
Some people say yes and some people say no, again, if someone could just try to give me a solid answer and a reason as to why or why not.

Will I need to lengthen brake lines???
Some people say yes, some no. I do not plan on driving anywhere other than the road and occasionally some light trailing to get to some rural fishing and hunting spots.

This lift is mostly for aesthetic purposes and improved ride quality, as a bonus, I plan on throwing some SCS wheels on and a larger, more aggressive looking tire.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate any help I can get!!!

Yes or no , depending on what coils you get and how much caster you want

    Maybe

Not necessary but a good idea

Front end will remain stock, just the regular duty coils, can you elaborate on caster for me please?

Confused by what you mean that you're going to install a full OME kit but keep the front stock

Im sorry, what i meant is i wont be adding a winch or aftermarket bumper, the front end will remain stock weight, therefore i willing be installing the lighter coils, not the heavy duty ones

    x2.

    • 885's should give you around 2.5" if I'm not mistaken (without a spacer) so you shouldn't NEED new UCA's but you will always nail better alignment numbers if you do have them.

    • As far as axle shims, you might need them as well. I would install the lift and wait for everything to settle before trying to correct anything. I've read where some people having vibes at initial install then going away once things settle.

Just my $0.02, hope this helps even a little bit.

Thanks a bunch man. Im considering having a shop that specializes in lifts and is certified through OME to install it, its $500 on top of the kit.. I originally thought $500 is well worth the money to hopefully correct alignment and vibrations,as well as any other issues that I do not have experience with. He has lifted many tacoma with this setup, therefore I feel like I trust his expertise. I never thought about things changing with settling, good point.
