i have some quads i enjoy taking to the beach, the tacoma itself is not for off road but i do want it to go into the sand with no hesitation. any recomendations from experienced tacoma owners. it is a 2015 tacoma, 2wd access cab. i will be upgrading to a bigger stronger truck in 2 years maybe, so i do not want to spend so much money on something i will not keep. i was thinking about adding All Terrain Tires, but i do not know if a lift is necessary . i will be on the road 85% and 15 off road.

You are on the right track thinking about tires now. A lift is not gong to help traction :).

2wd trucks are find in most cases in the sand. You will probably want to air down to maybe 12lbs. A lift is not necessary.

Driving on the sand is more dependent on you than your truck. The more you do it the better you will become. Where were you looking at taking the truck?

One thing you should also do is learn how to self recover if you do end up getting stuck. Bring a shovel, maybe a couple of pieces of carpet (24" x 24" or 36") or a couple of 24" long pieces of 4" x 4" posts.

air down your tires, wouldn't hurt to invest into some maxtraxs and a shovel.

+1 For a tool similar to MaxTrax. I have personally used the SmittyBilt traction ramps and they were great. They double as a sand/mud shovel and have a high weight rating. They are $150 and can be used with any vehicle, not just your Tacoma. I personally have been to the beach both offroading and just cruising and only got stuck in deep wet sand because I didn't hit it fast enough. And that was with highway tires, with ATs you should be just fine.

Bring the longest tow strap you have. Years ago one of my friends kept real busy pulling cars- and trucks off the south county beaches with an old Ford 4x4, - for a case of beer a pop.
