Have a leak from my power steering. Seems to be leaking from the dust boot of the vqlve shaft? Not sure if that's what it's really called. Can I just replace that part of do I need to replace the whole rack? I bought some atf to fill up if it gets low. It's a slow leak but but just recently seemed to have gotten a little worst after I wsnt for a light wheeling trip yesterday. Would aft stop leak be a bad idea? I couldn't find any atf dexron stop leak. Options, advice, or recommendations all appreciated.

Looks like I'll be living with it. I'm just scared that it may be a problem when I'm out wheeling.

That's going to be your call. As long as it isn't "squirting" out, and you don't mind the mess, just keep it topped off. Continuing degradation is usually gradual.

Yea I monitor it almost everyday. it usually just seems to leak after I have driven the car. If I don't turn it on for a day i won't see a leak. Guessing it the pressure that makes it leak. Do you think atf stop leak would work? I know our trucks use atf and not power steering. Not sure how atf stop leak would do in the ps system.

Just remembered that I recently had my alignment and had them correct my steering wheel so that it is straight. if they didn't retighten it good cause this cause the leak where the steering shaft?
