    Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum so first of all hi. I just ordered a ARB Deluxe Bull Bar and have heard that the instruction that come with it are vague and difficult to follow. Does anyone have a link to step by step instructions that will make my life a little easier? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Grear

I don't have step by step but its very easy, crush cans, center support then 6 bolts on the bumper itself.

If you studies the instructions real closely the night before install then go out and take off the stock bumper it will become fairly straight forward as to what needs to be done. My hardest problem I encountered were a couple of bolts/nuts were kinda hard to get to when it came time to tighten everything down. I had limited tools though. IIRC the bolt that gave me trouble was a 19mm. So I didn't have a lot of different options of 19mm tools.

Also when you're getting the bumper adjusted for height and what not don't place it to where the fender or the flair are super close or touching the bumper!! I have about a 1/4 inch gap between bumper and fender/flair. If its too close that damn thing will flex when driving in rough situations and you'll get a nasty thumping noise as a result.

    OP, Welcome to TW!

Install is pretty straightforward once you get your stock bumper off. Here's a couple links for ya:
    http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamods/arbfrontbumper/bullbar.html
    http://parksoffroad.com/tacomamods/arbbumperupdate/arbbumperupdate.htm

http://www.expeditionswest.com/equipment/tacoma/arb_bumper.html this one is the best walk-thru

Also, if you plan on installing a winch (and using it..) you should strengthen your frame end caps.

There is a "search" feature on this site that is unbelievably helpful!! (Located in the blue tool bar above, below your login info). GL!

I just installed one on my 02 about 2 weeks ago. The best advice I can give is look over that expeditions west article linked in post #5, and forget the instructions, as they are confusing as hell. Also, if you are installing a winch, do EVERYTHING, including the wiring before you mount the bumper. I installed everything but the cables, and it was a pain hooking them up, especially fitting the insulation "boots".

Good luck, I love my ARB so far.
