I just picked up a 2015 Taco and I am babying the hell out of it. From where I'm currently stationed at the beautiful state of Louisiana  the weather here is not how I would compare it to the Southern California weather during the summer time. It gets hot as hell in the south plus humidity. I have little to no shade to protect the paint from the sun or any other damaging elements given by our atmosphere. I understand that waxing is the first line of defense to the clear coat and the underlying car paint. My question is how often do you all wax and will it completely protect my truck?

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
To answer your question; not enough. Congrats on the new truck!

About 4-5 times a year by hand but I also use the "wax as you dry" stuff every time I wash it (I only wash the truck by hand too)

Spring & Fall ... Good through hand wash, detail (myself), clay bar and Zano. Takes about 3/4 of a day, but the rest of the year anytime she get's dirty or extremely dirty all ya do is hose her off.

I do the clay bar, polish and wax about 4 times a year on my Tacoma and my wife's Highlander. I also use a buffer to speed up the processes.

I do spring/fall for a heavy wax. But every 2-3 weeks I hit it with some of this.

Hand wash every 2 weeks. Polish and seal every 6 months. Big fan of Menzerna products. I use the Power Lock to seal. Rupes orbital polisher helps reduce the polish time by half.
