The passenger side lock cylinder on my truck has been giving me fits for the last few months. It started out as an intermittent problem (1 out of 10 times) where it would not unlock with the key, but now it will not unlock at all with the key. I can still lock it with the key, but to unlock the door I must flip the lever inside the cab.

Any suggestions? I truly don't think it is weather induced (ie frozen) and I have tried to spray the lock with oil.

    Thanks.

Have you tried a different key?
Get a 2015 door handle. Passenger side has no key hole only the drivers door.

Try graphite lock lube from Autozone. - worked great for me!

You should only use dry lubricant on a lock cylinder. Wet lube hold dirt and crap...

Sounds like a mechanical binding internal to the cylinder.

That'd be great, but when you have manual locks/windows it's pretty useful to have two keyholes

I can't remember the last time any of my Toyotas did not come with keyless entry. Maybe my '99 Tacoma.
