While shopping for some parts for my wifes car I notice a product I have never seen before. As our Tacoma lives outside, it gets water spots pretty bad (we have VERY hard water in our area) so I decided to try this:

    http://www.meguiars.com/m-en/product/8052/water-spot-remover

I do not think the moderator of this forum would like me to use some of the adjectives that I now have to describe this product, so I will have to speak in general terms.

I did not find this product easy to use at all. I did half my truck before giving up and turning to the tried and true clay bar. The Spot Remover stuff did not go on very easy at all and reguired tons of rubbing to get it to evenly apply and remove the spots. It also claimed to work on hard plastic....well, I guess the factory fender flare is not hard enough plastic as I had to turn to another product to get that stuff off the fender flare!

The clay bar, along with some detail spray, made quick work of the water spots. After all the prep was done I turned to Meguiar's Tech Wax to finish the job. The Tech Wax is AWESOME stuff. Very easy to apply and buff off and the truck looks GREAT.

I am really a big fan of Meguiar's products, but the spot remover was terrible, it even SMELLED bad!

If you have had a different result with this, I would like to hear it. I can not imagine I was using it wrong, but I will never use this stuff again.

    Your results may vary!

Vinegar works great for water spots. Make sure to wash your truck after using it to get any residual off though
