I just purchased a 01 tacoma v6, srs 4x4 197000 miles. I see valve cover gaskets leaking oil, just curious on how hard it would be to do both. Also would like to try and improve fuel mileage, as thus will now be a daily driver, 60 mile round trip to wk, it will also be my hunting truck, would like it yo last as long as possible. I'm sure it hasn't had any plugs or wire changes, only regular oil changes. What else should I do?
Not familiar with this type of truck I have only started owning them for a little over a year and a half. My 1st was a 97 with 2.7 4x4 still own it but since I got this one I am in process of selling it. Great truck hate to see it go wish I can keep it but wife says it gotta go. Do they have timing belts etc...
    Any help is much appreciated.
Busy at home so may not reply thanks in advance

Hand tighten all the bolts on the valve cover. Mine did the same thing and I cleared it right up by tightening them. Over time they come loose, just don't tighten them too much or you will have to replace them.

if tightening them doesn't stop the leak replacing them is super simple. all you do is take out all the valve cover bolts, pop the covers off, pull the gasket off, put new one on, then put the covers back on. im sure theres a specific torque those bolts are supposed to be tightened to, but typically snugging them plus about a 1/4 turn will do the trick. its a super easy fix and shouldnt take more than about 30-45 minutes if youre moving slow
