Allpro Pack Rack

Anyone have any experience running an allpro expedition pack rack and still be able to use the rack for surfboards/SUPS?

Standard height as shipped is 21” over bed rails. My thule rack sits about 23.5 and the 9’er surfboards probably have an inch or so over the cab. I was think of having another crossmember welded on top to give me a few inches of extra clearance. The rack would ship disassembled so I would need to weld it up anyways.

Also looking for a custom welding shop for front and rear bumpers on Maui if you have any recommendations.

I don't even know anyone on-island that has one.. I do have the same questions though.. looks in the pics that it lies just below the cab height so my 10'6" would have to be halfway off the tuck..

If I every get a '16 and have to do without a shell for a while, I may ask Pelfrey to make a custom height one for me..
