If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
With RadioShack filing bankruptcy, they are liquidating all of their inventory.

It's a perfect time to get switches, wire, soldering equipment, terminals, etc. for 50-80% Off.

I went to one of the local stores that will be closed in 9 days. They were pretty wiped-out, I was hoping to get some better soldering gear but I found some other good shit!

    (4) LED rockers in different sizes/styles
    (4) Threaded Barrel Micro LEDs (Red)
    (4) 1/4" mono inputs (for music gear)
A few bags of assorted terminals, spades and barrel connectors
    A can of DeOxit

Over $50 worth of crap, for $13. Gonna hit up another local store that is closing down soon to see what else I can plunder!!! :D

Why cat 5? 6 isn't much more money. I ran 6 after researching that it was superior, but only slightly more costly. Was I wrong?

You're right. Cat5 is old tech and I wouldn't bother using it. Low bandwidth and the cost savings isn't worth it when you realize that you should have spent a little more for faster speeds. Heck, even cat5e is better than cat5. Cat5e can carry the speed of cat6, but cat6 is certified for the speed. It also has extra shielding with a plastic internal system and foil jacket around the wires. Much better in this age where we deal with all kinds of wireless devices. Better shielding = better transmission.

The other location near me is closing at the end of March, and they go 50-80% Off in the last 2 weeks. I'm gonna head there sometime soon to see what's left and maybe stock up on some other crap :D
