I've never had issues with falling asleep before with taking pre supplements and working out. I think part of my issue is I've been a little anxious and stressing over the potential of getting a new job soon. Hopefully after the interview and they hire me, I'll relax.

Try Animal PM. It's supposed to support muscle growth/repair while you sleep along w/ a sleed aid. I've never tried it.

I'm a competitive swimmer so I'm not trying to gain huge mass but we still hit the gym three times a week in addition to our swim workouts (9 a week).

I've taken Jack3d before lifting and it was great for about 30 minutes. Found out it contains DMAA and is banned by just about every sporting organization out there...no more of that stuff.

For protein I've tried a lot and my favorite by far is Dymatize ISO-100. It's hydrolyzed and WADA approved..no banned substances. mixes great in water or milk and tastes great in both. Favorite flavors are cookies and cream and gourmet chocolate. No fat too which is a plus.

Just recently tried BPI Blox before a swim workout and I thought I handled the stress and strain a lot better towards the end. It's Amino Acids from silk which they say help control cortisol levels which are a pretty big issue when you swim for two and a half hours. I'd say it worked pretty damn well.

Picked up some CytoCarb for when I start my college weight lifting program to help with recovery and some ON amino acids to help me get through tough practices.

Musclepharms stuff is great! Minus maybe the test booster, but everyone's body is different with that. I'd highly recommend them. I just ordered their UFC fight stack for like $79

What is everyone's take on creatine? Haven't seen it mentioned in this thread too much. Was contemplating throwing that into my routine.

I see a lot about supplements and workout routines but not a lot about what kind of diet you guys have? I am 160lbs and want to be a solid 180-190 at the end of the year. I have about 5% body fat and am a very hard gainer, i eat and eat and eat and workout but hardly gain at all. Diet is my hardest part because I'm never home and always on the run. Can anyone help me out here

How much calories in day? Which foods does it consist of? I don’t got your type of body and metabolism in particular, but adding this to my plan helped me. Obviously, being on the go sucks. I traveled too much in the past, makes it hard. Anyway, after a few years I now know my body better and what works for me. Everyone is different. I benefited from adding a pre-workout meal or shake. My lifting starts at 3-4am most the time.

    Pre-workout Shake:
2 scoops Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex Vanilla (I miss this original formula).
1-2 tablespoons Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter
    1 medium Banana
    1/3 cup Rolled Oats (raw)
    10-12 oz Cold Water
    2-3 ice cubes

Obviously, this is alot of calories. About 20g Fat, 80g carb, 75g protein. Also, I do protein shake afterwards but cutdown half the carbs & fat off the above for post-workout shake. The remainder of day is solid food. Not sure what type of exercise & diet lifestyle you got going. So many factors involved into getting results. This has worked for me when I commit to the other stuff, diet, training consistency, intensity, sleep/recovery, etc. for weeks on end.

One of the most studied supps for sure. proven to be effective if you take advantage of it (work out hard while you're on it). Also one of the cheapest supps out there :D

    Pretty much sums it up:
"When creatine is supplemented, muscle creatine stores become elevated, boosting the ability of muscles to perform high-intensity work," says Andrew Hamilton, nutrition writer for Peak Performance and a fitness industry trainer. "Those who take advantage of this ability to train more intensely can develop more strength. However, simply taking creatine without the appropriate training will not build strength."

Add it to your intake brotha!

    Is Shotgun 5X the same as NO-Shotgun? I can't find NNO-Shotgun on BB.com

I tried the 5X and it seems to help. Might be the placebo effect but whatever gets me up and pumped is good in my book. I'm down to 165 lbs 14% body fat.
