Driving down the road truck sputtered and died. When I try to crank it it really wants to start but seems like it's not getting fuel. Any tips to get it going long enough to get home?

Get some MAF cleaner and get rid of the oilers filter if you have one.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Start with do you have fuel, then is fuel pump working, turn key to on and listen to tank to see if pump is running. So many things can prevent engine from running, but always fuel and spark are the things to test for first.
Do you have tools with you? If not, you'll probably need to tow it home or to a shop.

I'm pretty sure thats what the problem is. Is there a write up on how to replace them? I can't seem to find one.

Fuel pump is my guess too. To replace you will need to remove the bed.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Maybe try another fuel pump relay, first.

first thing to check is the fuel pump cutoff switch. This turns the fuel pump off in the event of a colision or rollover. I've seen them trigger for absoultely no reason before. I am not 100% sure where it is on the 1st gens, but on a lot of vehicles they are around the glove box. Second fuel filter could be clogged, then i would go on to the fuel pump.

It's probably the fuel pump, I managed to start it and drive it halfway home but once it warmed up it died again. Anyone heard of that before?

Easier to drop the tank. I've dropped my a few times and it doesn't take long at all.
