    Hey Tacoma World,
Whenever it's time to change air filters, I would like to get one from K&N. Does anyone feel that this might not be a good idea?

I use the aFe Dry. But not for the performance gain...'cause there's not enough to notice, if any at all. I just like the fact that I've got a filter for the life of the truck. Once a year pull it out, clean it, let it dry, stick it back in and no oiling.

stock usually is the best all around filter, with decent flow and good filtering. Oiled gauze like k&n usually flow a bit more air but at the cost of some filtration. I would guess the dry gauze filters would have similar affects as the oiled minus the oil. All that said, my taco is sporting a k&n.

i use the AFE Dry flow filter,

didnt notice any "wicked performance gain"

but it will allow me to have a washable filter that i can use for the life of the truck,

Short of nitrous you won't get a noticeable gain out of the 2.7.

I bought a Fram air filter for my truck in January 2014 from Canadian Tire. This was after I went to the dealer to have an oil change done.

Shortly after, I topped off the tank and did a road trip from Victoria to Tofino (a lot of mountains) with my folks. Half a tank yielded me ~350 km.

Pretty damn good performance for a 4000lb truck with a lowly 4 cylinder imho.
