So I just made the jump from being a car guy my entire life, to actually buying a truck!

Two weeks ago practicality won my internal battle between keeping my wonderfully fun, yet long in the tooth, VW R32 and finally getting a pick up. I really wanted the four doors in a new car regardless of type with two kids getting older, and bigger rather quickly. I also wanted a long bed truck I could use to load all of our stuff and dog into on camping trips and such. I had been looking at a lot of full size trucks, and even the new Colorado when I discovered this used truck at a local dealer (with whom I will unfortunately never do business with again!)

It is a 2009 DCLB TRD Sport, with only 38,xxx miles on it. It's in great shape, sans a few nicks and a decent dent in the top of the tailgate. All fixable, and not of worry considering the deal I got.

When I first got the truck, it came with a big aluminum cap from the previous owner that just wasn't my style. I didn't even make it home from the dealer when I stopped at the storage unit to drop this thing off!

On a side note, if anyone in the New England area is interested in the cap, it is for sale.

Not much in the way of mods just yet, but have some things in mind in terms of suspensions and wheels. So far I've only added a full set of Husky Xact Contour liners which I love! My friend GAVE me a set of WeaterTechs, but they went back to him after ordering the Husky's. Love the fit, and feel of them a lot more!

Last night I made a deal on a topper/cap that better fit my needs, and it's exactly what I had been looking for! It's a 2012 ARE CX series with roof rails, windoors, flip down front window, carpet liner. It's a great shell, but was dropped and will need some touch up work. Still fits great, and functions flawlessly! Sorry for the bad picture, but it's the best I could do last night on the way home from picking it up.

So far it's been a great 2 weeks of ownership, and this site is a great resource! I will probably tend to do a bit more lurking around than posting initially just to get my bearings and figure out what the hell I'm talking about first, but I can already tell this is a great community!

Don't blame you on the cap...wow that thing was ugly.

Welcome! I love my TRD Sport DCLB!
