I have a 2013 Tacoma Access Cab 4x2 Base SR5 with standard am/fm/bt/mp3 audio. For a fixed volume setting the am audio level is much lower than the fm level, so it's a pain to switch from fm to am. Is there a way to adjust the gain levels so that am and fm sound levels are about equal? Thanks.

Did you ever figure this out? I got the same problem with my radio in my 2013 but not in my 2010 4 runner?

I didn't realise anyone even listened to AM Radio any more. Damn.

Sorry, I don't know where the gain adjustment is either...

I have a similar question, but for the AUX jack. It's irritating having to put my phone volume at 120% and turn the radio up to 63 (max) just to hear the damned thing on the highway, when I can hear the radio or CD with the volume in the low 40s.

Even at 120% and max volume, I can't make out low-voiced audiobooks. I've thought about putting in an amplifier and then cranking it up until the audio is reasonable at 45 on the radio volume adjustment.

You could try a headphone amplifier. Some are very small, you can even build them for about $30. They run on batteries, but it wouldn't be hard to power it from the truck either.

I have the same issue with my '14, satellite is one volume and FM is another.

Are you aware that tone settings are specific to each band? You need to set tone in AM, FM, CD, and AUX. Unfortunately there is not a volume level.
