So today on my drive back home from Armor Tech Off-road on snow covered roads there was a pretty serious dronning noise coming from the front end of my truck whenever I was going between 45-50 mph in both two wheel and four wheel drive. Once I'd get over 50 the noise would disappear, and once I got to clear roads it wouldn't do it at all, and there is no dronning at all before 45 mph in either drive mode on snow covered roads or clean roads.

The dronning was similar to the noise my wheel bearing made before I replaced them two years ago, and I'm not sure they are the issue again if I'd only get that noise in those specific diving conditions mentioned above.

Does anybody have any idea what this could be from? Thanks for any help in advance.

Usually the noise from a bad wheel bearing comes about when turning the steering wheel, either left or right.

Idk, when my bearings went bad last time it made noise all the time, turning or not from 20+ mph, that's why this noise is very strange

The fact that you hear it in 4wd and only in snow makes it a tough one.

I'm guessing you ruled out traction control or lsd engaging. If it was your front diff about to grenade you would have found out when you engaged 4x4 on pavement. Wheel bearing would be noisy, snow or not.

Do you have mudflaps? Maybe it was just snow being thrown up against the truck.

Nobody asked what you had done at ATO. I'm guessing this is a factor. Sliders? Snow hitting them would be a new noise.

Ok, so last weekend I installed my all pro off-road apex front bumper, and ifs, trans and transfer case skid plates. I also put on drilled and slotted rotors when I changed my breaks too. I didn't get anything put on at ATO only picked up parts.

The only think I can think of is MAYBE when I was installing the transfer case skid I had to take just the nuts off the transmission cross member and it dropped down about an 1/8" maybe this minor misalignment is the cause but I find that doubtful since it only happens in that speed range, but I'm by no means an actual mechanic and can't say that's certain.

Also an update, it makes the noise on wet roads too, not just snow. Maybe it's not even an issue, but the pitch of the dronning also causes very minor vibrations.
