Hey I am new to TW but I have been reading as a guest for a while. I have seen some pretty good discussion on the pro comp 3" and it has made me look into another option. What do you all think about the rancho quicklift and an AAL? Will I be better off going this route?

    Welcome to TW!

Why are you dead set on Rancho or Procomp? From what I've read deciding between those two options is like choosing to eat shit or drink piss.

If you are on a budget check out bilstein 5100s.

Thanks for the Welcome! Im not dead set on either of these just trying to stay under $500 to apease the wifey! I really want the Icon but I only street my truck with the once a year trip down a dirtroad or trail ride so $1100 is just out of the question I will check out the Bilstein now thanks for the suggestion.

I think the cheapest Icon Kit (Stage 1) is right around $1500.

What is the desired lift height? Anything over 2.5" you need UCAs

"need" (for UCAs) is relative. If you're trying to stay on a budget, you can add the UCAs later if/when you get tired of the "twitchy" feeling in the steering.

UCAs are require to re-align the "Caster" adjustment which affects how the truck feels/drives, not how the tires wear.

Those tires will be tough even with 3". 285/75R16 is what most guys go with, even then some trimming of the plastic wheel well may be required. Also look at getting rear axle shims and do your research here on driveline vibrations after lifts. Do the UCA's at the same time, you'll save yourself an alignment and a lot of work.

Get the Icon. Put in on. Tell your wife later. She'll get over it. Good quality suspensions are like guns and tools....not a bad investment.
