P285 70 17 Cooper Discoverer AT3? Should I get the P rated or LT? P rated is only a $150 difference than the LT

Kumho Road Avengers? P rated same size

Dueler AT Revo 2? P rated same size

Any opinions with your experiences with any of these tires are welcome. I also never drive in snow.

I got the at3 in load range c. If I remember correctly the c range tread depth is deeper than the p rated. We had about a foot of snow last week and I have no complaints with my coopers

Stay away from the LT load rating unless you tow or haul heavy loads often. They will make your truck ride rough. P or C should be fine, I run P rated Dynapro ATM and they ride really nice.

I can't speak to the Kumho's but I did have a set of the earlier AT Revo's and they were great tires for about 40K. After that they started getting pretty loud. I finally pulled them off the truck after about 45K due to noise. They were still depth wise and had tones of traction in everything I drove in on a daily basis.

As for P vs LT. Be incredibly honest with yourself. Do you need an LT tire? Do you carry or tow excessive loads? Do you need to extra side all protection? Putting LT tires on is going to make the truck ride stiff. I'll stop short of saying ride like crap but it will be stiff and your mileage will take a pretty good hit due to the extra weight as well. Expect at least a 2mpg drop going to LT tires.

I'm running Duratrac's in C load and they ride hard even with the pressures dropped to 30 front and 26 in the rear. While I love the tires I'm not sure the ride penalty is worth the extra little bit they give me in traction. I'm contemplating letting them go and moving back to the P265/75/16 Destination AT which I ran for over 80K miles.
