I just unplugged mine to extend and re route the rear wires and now I have the same problem. I can see error codes cnf p0500 and pnd p0500 and my code reader will clear the codes but the lights stay on and the speedo has not come back ? Any ideas ?

Did you crimp the rear wires or Solder? Solder only way to do it.

Yup nothing but solder and heat shrink... ? I just saw something on another post that mentioned needing to drive over 30 mph for a few minutes for the system to see it again ?

I reset it and the lights stayed gone. Then the speedo came back after a few feet over 30mph.

LOL, I just got in turned the key and all the lights were gone and the minute I pulled out of the driveway the speedo came back. Weird thing is that I drove it earlier ...maybe the ECU just had to sit and reset ?

I just stripped all brake lines and wires off of the rear axle housing and re ran Kevlar brake hoses and the sensor wires down the same path as the e-brake cables. It came out pretty sweet and everything sits above the leaf pack safely and flexes with the leaves. Going to cut all tabs off the axle housing and weld on a pumpkin bash next.

Here are pics of the front and rear hoses I just re plunbed recently, in the front I ripped out all the OE stuff and ran one hose all the way to the caliper with a banjo fitting. In the rear I actually ripped out all of the hard lines starting under the drivers door on the frame rail and ran hoses via the same route as the e-brake lines. I don't have pics of the sensor wires yet. I'm hoping to pull my e-brake cables out of the drums and sleeve them and the sensor wires together with one stainless hose braid.

I got everything from Crest Performance in Vista those guys were awesome and made me a great deal. He saved all of the spec's from my stuff in case anyone else wants to do the same. These are all the DOT kevlar hoses.

I remember reading a thread about how to install a switch to turn ABS on and off, I am definitely going to give that a shot next. I'm just glad I have an 06' so I am pre all of the traction control BS. My fiances' 4Runner is a complete POS off road with all of that VSC and ABS sh*t ...that thing is fkn scary like it has a mind of its own and its mind wants to kill you on loose DG roads :/

Are you still under warranty ?? Looks like you're approaching 3 years.....

If you're still under warranty, take it to the dealer.

I got this taco 05 we trying to get the abs light off on biggest pain in the ass the diagnosis tester says no detection from right rear obviously switched out señors and everything possible test except the wiring harness Main computer abs modual resr diff since it was not stock. All the electrical is stock btw. That's what they have done . The wiring harness is stock but this vechicle is salvaged the left side was smashed and rebuilt turned into a prerunner. Well I tried to help I started off by checking the wiring harness all the way up to the dash with a hardware from the señor. Next step is to the abs mod. Anyone have any thought on what it could be the brake light is also on . It's a tuff on some of the best Toyota techs haven't figured it out and don't really have the cash to keep trying stuff
