Torque app - ambient temp

I have a base model, so no temp display in my mirror. I'm finding that my truck is wired for nearly everything (fogs, inverter, etc...) that the higher models have. I assume I have the temp sensor up front (I'll look later).

Is anyone getting temp readings from this on Torque? All I get is intake temp. If the sensor is there, I might just need to install a fuse. Just one of many little projects...

My recollection is that Torque would NOT display an air temperature for my base model. I added an inexpensive thermometer and ran a sensor through the firewall.

Inexplicably, Toyota still does NOT add a Temp/Compass to their higher end TRD/ORs (which I now have). Ergo, I ordered a new mirror and will re-run a temperature sensor when the weather warms.

 

AFAIK your not going to be able to pull ambient from torque / obd2 port. I doubt that you have the sensor as well (though probably have the plug for it)


Also with the stock intake, intake temps are usually ~ 3-8* above ambient at cruising speed on the hwy.

 

Thanks for the replies. My truck rarely sees highway, so my intake reading is fairly high. I'm not too worried about it, but if it was going to be easy I wanted the display.

If I pulled the sensor from a salvage yard, would I still not be able to get a temp reading?
