I too pulled up next to one in a parking lot. Distinct difference between Japanese and american styling. Tough to tell from these photos, but what jumps out in person is the chevy/gmc sits taller stock, has a much beefier front end, tacomas quad cab and doors are larger.

What I'd really like to see is the last Canyon next to the new. Then we could see side by side what GMC is willing to do to make their truck more of a marketable option.

I'll ask, because I have owned both. Would buy them both again. Never had a problem with either one and I like the styling. I bought my 2015 Tacoma because I loved my Tundra but wanted something smaller. I purchase almost any vehicle except Dodge and Ford, just a preference.

People are hating on the GM, hating on the 2016 Tacomas, seens like everyone is very happy with their second generation Tacoma, I guess I bought the best vehicle.

These prices for these new vehicles regardless of make are too high. Then you have higher insurance , higher property tax and the worry that "somebody is going to scratch my truck".

Very true! Less quality as years go on as well. All manufacturers cutting corners and rausing prices

The Colorado is definitely the better looking truck between the Chevy and the GMC. Not quite on par with the styling of the Taco in my opinion, but over time it may grow on me.

I don't care for the design of the dash in either model from GM but from what I saw poking around in a dealer's unlocked one after hours one night there was no denying that the quality of the interior components is way above what Toyota is using.
