I have a 2010 Tacoma double cab with the 4L v6 and I get a very loud engine flutter during idle and only increases tempo when I accelerate the engine rpm. But it goes away when I depress the clutch pedal, doesn't matter how hard I press it the lightest push will make the noise dissipate. Any ideas or answers? Take it to the dealer or DIY? Engine or transmission problem? Any advice at all is appreciated!

Well see the noise goes away when I press the pedal, and I feel that if it was a throw out bearing it would produce noise instead of have the flutter go away.

I have this problem AGAIN on my 2005 Tacoma SR5 4x4 6 speed manual trans. Truck has about 116K miles on it and it's been replaced 3 times. once by Toyota when it was under warranty and twice out of my own pocket. And now, it's doing again. Read here and other places on the net that the 3rd party URD throw out bearing kit uses a stainless steel sleeve instead of Toyota's aluminum sleeve. All 3 times genuine Toyota kit were used. Apparently Toyota doesn't care enough to fix their replacement kit. Extremely disappointed in Toyo. They claim great reliabilty, which I've experienced for many cars and decades - but it doesn't apply in this case!!
