Heater vent air flow does not seem right

It seems like a significant amount of air is directed to the defrost vents when the blower is switched to floor. There is only slightly less air going to the windshield than when the floor/defrost setting is selected.

Has anyone else noticed this? It is really starting to bug me that I can only get a weak flow of air to the floorboard in my 15.

 

What ive noticed with my 12 is no matter what setting I have it on there is always air blowing out of the 2 side vents by the driver and passenger side glass don't know if that's normal or not, but it does

 

That's normal. The purpose of the defrost isn't to just defrost your front glass. The heat will come out the side vents for help in defrosting side windows as well.

 

That is the way you want it, a little to the window all the time in the cold. I use the floor mode most of the time.
