I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing a problem such as mine. My dash brake light randomly comes on, especially when its cold outside. I'm a light repair and maintenance tech so usually a simple problems like this I can diagnose pretty quickly. I've gone over my entire E-brake system and found no faults or tight lines. Its adjusted correctly and works very well. I recently installed 2 new front calipers for a unrelated reason. I bled the entire system after doing so and found no issues. My reservoir is filled to spec and my brakes work great. The first owner had the dealer try and find the problem and they found nothing...I checked a few electrical connectors relating to the system and found nothing. I suspect I missed an issue within some electrical connection. That's my best guess.

You checked the ebrake cable? Worst case scenario, which is an easy fix, is taking the drum brakes apart in the rear and I believe there's a clip or something that gets stuck and finicky.

Mine was the fluid level. Other than that you've checked most everything else.

    Sorry.

My return, hold-down, and adjusting leaver springs seemed just fine. But you might be thinking of the parking break leaver in the drum. I might just have to take the drums completely apart and clean them out and replace the springs just to confirm its not them. But thanks. And no as far as I can tell its not a brake light. But thanks. Its the weirdest thing.

Yeah I had this problem, it was like the ebrake wasn't retracted back in all the way so the brake dash like would come on all the time. Mine still comes on time to time only when putting in park but it never comes on in drive so naturally I ignore it.
Going over a few components in the rear, depending on yours, there might be a spring or two corroded or seized. Hope this video helps in some way

Yeah its defiantly got to be some switch or faulty connection somewhere then. I'm honestly suspecting its got a defective connection in the e brake now. Because that wouldn't effect any performance issue which i have non of. Because the mechanical side of my e brake system is sound unless there is a problem in the drum I missed. As far as i know this problem has existed since day 1 with this truck. I know it dates back to at least 2006 from service history. I bet If i pull my e brake lever assembly out and do some resistance testing I might find something.

And I adjusted everything in my e brake to spec so a tight cable up front would mean the spec isn't very accurate. But we'll see, I'll pull it all apart.
