I traded my 09 Tacoma for a 14 model this year. I have to admit, I'm just plain disappointed. Despite a nicer grill and headlights design (and < 10 miles on the odometer), the truck is lacking in a few "premium" areas. Having moved from a rural location to the suburbs of Dallas, I went from 4WD TRS Sport to Pre-runner Texas Ed. My wife also traded her old highlander limited for a 2014 XLE. So here's what gets me; no leather seats, no seat heaters, no navigation (though I can't remember if that was an option), rear view cam but no rear view "sensors", no lane change assist, no auto headlights, no HID. More or less, the interior is the same as my 2009. My wife on the other hand, she got some *serious* upgrades, design, form, and function. I won't be trading it in anytime soon, and am working to install aftermarket parts to compensate the Taco's lack of options, but have to admit I've been eyeballing some of these nice looking F-150's rolling around town. I know this is blasphemy, and will work to repent of my heathen ways, but Toyota just isn't making it easy with my beloved Tacoma. Okay, rant complete.

    ^^ yep this x100.
Toyota hasnt really had to update the Tacoma all that much purely because there is little to no competition within this market. And the sales are through the roof still.
I think whenever they do a full resigned, whenever that is, they will add the simple things that most cars already have just to catch up.
My biggest thing i want is the current MPG readings, my buddy's 97 jeep has this..

The wife's highlander will do that too (show current gas mileage). I have a garmin nuvi with the little bluetooth obd2 attachment, which allows that option. I'd say the average sits around 19-ish on my Tacoma, and I've seen it range from 4 (near full throttle) to 60 (coasting downhill).

I just use fuelly on my phone whenever i fill up. Its just annoying that that technology has been around for many many years, it is cheap to install, they just didnt want to include it.

Totally agree, and the same can be said for so many similar technologies.

If the 3rd gen Tacoma doesn't have all of the features that people on TW have been mentioning, I can't say whether or not I'll buy it. Knowing that the 2014 is virtually identical to the 2005, it seems lazy to me. I will be very disappointed in Toyota if the new interior is a rehash with no new features. We get it, it's the most dependable truck... Now stop riding those coattails

The same shit everyone else has.
Ive got 4 more years on payments on my truck. Not really sure what the next step is. I might drive it until the wheels fall off. Im kinda interested in a new Tundra if they come out with a diesel version with a manual transmission. The only thing I do know is Im going to finish restoring my fun/show car before I do anything else vehicle related.

I co-sign this post 10x. I've personally learned a little bit about the 2016 Tacoma outside of TW, but not enough along the way of features or its interior. New information gives the impression of lazy efforts on the inside, especially after 11 years. That better not be the case.

A diesel truck of some sort. I've always wanted one even though I really don't need one, I'm going to get one next and get it out of my system. I would prefer a Tundra or Tacoma diesel, but if not most likely a Dodge with a Cummins. My lease is up in 2017 so I'll have to wait and see what's offered.

I have a 2014 TRD OR and I almost purchased the new Silverado but the idea of its value drop was killing me! American trucks just lose value too fast.

Nothing wrong with wanting a diesel and not necessarily needing one. There are pros and cons to each, and I would also like a diesel.

Keep the Taco till the wheels fall off! Once it's paid for, the mods will start. After that itch is scratched, get a Camry or Accord as a commuter.
