    Hey everyone,

I've lived in the NE my entire life but might be getting relo'ed to Sahuarita(working in Nogales) in the next month or two.

I've been to AZ a bunch as my inlaws live in Scottsdale, but have never been to the Tuscon/Sahuarita area.

I love to hunt and fish, but also golf, mountain bike, ski, etc. Anyone from the area that hunts/shoots? What are there for local opportunities?

Any tips/recommendations when we fly to check out the area in a couple weeks?

Shooting tons of public land. I don't live down there , but you have the Santa Rita's in your backyard. Lots of hiking and mountian biking. Hunting very good for Coues whitetail and javelina ( desert critters). Pretty quiet out towards Sahuarita I imagine.

Look up TucsonMTB for trail and riding details. As mentioned the AZT runs up just east of Tucson with some wonderful riding around Kentucky Camp. Lots of techy type riding spread around that area also.

Thanks for the info guys. I figured hiking & biking would be right out the backdoor. Where my inlaws are, they back the McDowell(sp) range, that we have hiked a few times.

Personally I woun't want to live in Sahuarita but thats just me. I am a Tucson native. Lots of out door stuff to do here. Tons of good riding. Everything from good single track to some really fun down hill. In the summer I like to stick to Mt. lemmon riding to avoid the heat. Winter everything is avalible.

Sahuarita is more quiet than Tucson but close enough to come into town. Bummer is the southside of Tucson is the first part you drive into. Kinda rough at night. Try looking into Kolb & I10 area. Still right off the interstate, a little farther but closer to the better parts of Tucson. More golfing in Sahuarita though.

If we make the move, most likely will be to Rancho Sahuarity or Madera highlands. Glad to hear there is plenty to do, I will have to hit you up if we make the move.

From what Ive read, there are some really nice parts of Tuscon, but where I will be commuting to Nogales everyday for work, I want to keep my commute to an hour max. Sahuarita is the furthest north I can go and keep the commute to an hour.

Hey Tim just browsing through the AZ page and saw this. Welcome to AZ! I live near Tanque Verde area in Tucson, but born and raised on the SE side including Corona De Tucson. Pretty fun areas around Sahuarita including Gunsite pass and Madera Canyon for some simple wheeling. We also have camping trips planned out on the JeepAndrew Thread if you haven't wondered onto that yet

Thanks for the heads up. I am still waiting on a final offer from my company, which I would expect in the next week or so, so potential move to AZ in April/May.

I will keep my eye on the camping thread if we make the move.
