    Hey all.
I boughth a 2014 Tacoma and I wanted to make it a little faster. I bought the Trd exhaust and I searched everywhere for a cold air intake that was legal in California. Now I jave 2 questions if anyone could help me answer them. I'm new to this forum

    1. If I install a k&n intake does it do any bad to my engine if I take it off everytime I take it in for service
    2. Are there any legal ones someone can recommend.

    Thanks avain
    I live in California

Welcome to TW. First off I would refer you to the 2nd gen section, 3rd gen is reserved for the 2016+
I hear CAIs leave you worse off than OEM. Hopefully someone can answer your questions

1: why take it off for service?

I dont remove ANYTHING when I go in for service, even when I was under warranty

Will the dealership say anything or do anything if I leave it on when I take it for every 5k miles service?

they MIGHT say it will screw up the MAF sensor sooner or later, and they are right unless u clean it regularly with a K&N

Other than letting through about 18 times as much dirt as a good factory filter, and the chance of MAF fouling from the oil, no...nothing bad can come from running a K&N.

    Hmmm....

Continue to install do-dads and copious decals until desired horsepower is reached.....

Don't forget the maple syrup flavoured octane boost.

Check S&B they may have a C.A.R.B. approved intake for your truck.

When I moved back to CA from CT my FJ had a Airraid CAI. I researched online and found that it was CARB approved. I dont know if it is model specific... or if it is vehicle specific... Ill see if I can find the documentation
