Hi guys, I'm new to your forum. I'm about to buy a 2015 today, but concerned about the frame rust. I live in the Wi. frozen tundra, we use tons of salt. Has toyota done anything on the newer models to improve the rust proofing? Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Make sure the boxed sections around the engine cradle are oiled up with something like [IMG]

You know what? I think you'll still be at "thinking" stage at the end of this nice day, (in California).

I will be at the thinking stage all day, about 10 degrees out today here.Wish I was in Cali.I wouldn't think about salty roads eating my $30000+ taco. I was just wondering if toyota had "fixed" the rusty frame.

Nobody knows for sure if it is fixed. I bought my 2015 and I'm in the salt belt, car wash once a week and go from there.

I don't live in the rust belt, but I'm gonna get some of that.
looks like a cheap investment to keep my frame healthy.

Well I went and did it. Bought a 2015 double door sr5 long bed in blue ribbon, cool color. I'll have to pick up a few cans of that fluid film for both my taco & wife's solara. Thanks for your advice.
