The year doesn't matter. The motor does though

    The 2/3rz came with the w59 5speed.

    Has these ratios:

    Ratios:

    First Gear: 3.954:1
    Second Gear: 2.141:1
    Third Gear: 1.384:1
    Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
    Fifth Gear: 0.81:1

    The 5vzfe came with the r150f with 4wd and r150 for 2wd

    Ratios:

    First Gear: 3.830:1
    Second Gear: 2.062:1
    Third Gear: 1.436:1
    Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
    Fifth Gear: 0.838:1

Far as I know...I think the only wiring difference is the throttle is fly by wire instead of direct cable..

    Wouldn't affect the tranny anyways.

But maybe someone else can chime in.
