I needed a personal work truck, 4x4 and a manual trans. I love the simplicity of it. I could have got a more expensive tacoma, but I was actually hunting for a base reg cab. Bought it brand new and had it paid off in less then a year.

PreRunner, because I don't want or need 4WD, but prefer the look that goes with bigger wheel/tire and taller stance.

Access Cab, because real trucks only have 2 doors, (I know, I know, Access Cab has 4 doors, but regular cab no longer available as PreRunner) and I needed at least a 6 foot bed to carry my radio controlled planes.

2.7/Auto, because it's not a hot rod, and I'm secure in my manhood.

Base PreRunner, because it's standard features, plus the added cruise control were everything I needed and wanted.

Black, because it's the best match with base PreRunner bumpers, grill, and fender flares.

Tacoma, because it's best truck available for affordable add-ons and modifications.

It's not new, it's not Mexico
R/C - It's what I could afford at the time.

    6 FT Bed - Because it's a real truck.

    A/T - I don't enjoy using a clutch in traffic anymore.

    4 X 2 - I'm a city boy.

DCLB because I often have to haul three other people and they don't want to climb over seats through a half door...and tubas, amps, and drums.

Auto because my wife does help drive, sometimes.

4WD because we live on top of a steep hill and it rains and snows.

I paid for it, so I got whatever I wanted.

    5-lug access cab stick.

5-lug because those tacked on fender flares are fugly.

I4 Stick, all the power I need and great fuel economy.

Access cab extra interior area for storage and space for things I don't want to haul in the bed.

Truck because I need a large bed to haul stuff frequently.

2wd because I can get everywhere I need to go in 2wd, even in snow.

I often wonder why people would buy a truck with a fake hood scoop on it but I don't start a thread over it. :)

    V6 - because I plan to tow a TT
DC - because I have 2 toddlers to haul
    SR5 - because I love the look
LB - because I hate short beds

I went with the AC, AT, V6, off road package.

    1) Wanted a 6 foot bed so I could sleep in the back with the tailgate up

    2) AC cause I didn't want a DCLB (6' bed) but I did want some extra room to store things inside the cab.

    3) AT cause I already had a car for commuting that was a MT. Wanted the AT on the truck since it gets driven for longer trips and its nice on forest service roads and the such not having to shift manually all the time

    4) Off-road package....at the time wanted it for the e-locker and the DAC and hill start features. Looking at things now I might have gone for just the SR5 package or something else and just added ARB lockers.

    5) V6 cause power :)
