Hey guys, my 2014 regular cab 4wd recently rolled over 6,000 miles and in the past 1,000 or so, I've been hearing a knocking sound from the suspension. Usually comes from the right front but honestly, it's hard to tell. Doesn't do it with vertical suspension movement (straight over a speed bump) but when going crooked over things like turning in driveways, railroads, terraces in the pasture, etc. I can also feel it in the steering wheel occasionally.

I searched this and found a few threads but mostly 1st gen trucks. I started a thread cause my truck is so new, it's odd to have these problems. It sounds like ball joints or a wheel bearing.

I've removed the sway bar on front completely but the sound was happening before so I don't think that's it. I'm installing a leveling kit this weekend so I wanted some suggestions of things to check. Thanks.

Mine does that too. It seems to be more common when I am turning a corner and hit a pothole. The suspension is stock. I did tighten the rear spring clamp bolts some time ago, which I think reduced the noise from the back end. I want to check the cab mounting bolts, if it ever warms up here.

Thanks man, I'll hit those while I'm under there. Starting to think I'm just going to tighten every bolt I see under the whole truck.

To add a little more, it's not only the right front, it seems to move around. It also seems to be growing worse at a fast pace. Also, I can't replicate the sound by moving the truck by hand in any direction. As I said, I can feel it in the steering wheel some times but very seldom, also in the pedals. So far, I've cleaned all extras out of the cab and bed and tightened the spare tire to eliminate possible culprits. Didn't help.

Any more suggestions? It's annoying the hell out of me.

My truck does it too. Most often if I back up, then pull forward with the wheel cut. As soon as you compress the suspension it clunks.

    I've found nothing.

Makes me feel a little better to know I'm not the only one. At least makes me think it isn't an actual issue, just an annoyance. I was starting to think something was going to fall off.

Mine just started doing this within the last month as well. Not really a knock though, more of a really fast creak or click coming from the left front it seems. I only notice it at speeds less than 35.

And it isn't the squeaky leaf pack, definitely from the front.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Place your hand on the fender above the center of the wheel opening and push the fender forward and pull the fender back to see if it may makes that thud. In my case the fender was loose. Tightening the fender bolts fixed it for me.

I had this problem too, 2014 DC with only 2000 miles. The dealer went nuts trying to find the problem. They said it was the cab bushings, not installed correctly when the truck was built. Dealer loosened then re-tightened everything and now sweet silence!

    If serious that's ridiculous.
