Reverse light failure

    98' with 33"s lumber rack and box of tools
    6 inch ome kit 18" rims
    So i have changed my reverse switch on the tranny, checked the fuses, changed the bulbs, checked the wires and i cant figure out why my lights wont come on. It's a manual and has a tow harness. I worked intermittently or i should say if i shifted in then out and then in again to reverse but after all this they wont work at all now... Please help ive been holding a mag light out my back window long enough.
