So you spread Marissa Meyer novels all over the road, how does that help?

I store my 4runner and my tacoma in the garage all winter. My coworkers laugh at me because i have 2 4x4's and i drive to work on snowy days in my winter beater, a honda accord. My wife drives her 4runner daily but i wash it off frequently. Waiting on a good rain to wash all this damn salt off the roads so i can drive'em again.

Its a red volcanic rock here in the west. Very porus and great for traction. Salt is for the shacker on your table!

Do the roads fair better in cold states that use cinder vs salt, in terms of pot holes

    Huum, that's a good question!
I know here at least a lot of the road damage occurs from the plows hitting uneven road surfaces. Cinder isn't super hard, I'd like to think the cinder breaks up long before the basalt rock of the asphalt. With that said I'm sure the cinders do wear on the road especially eating at the tar.
