Hard to beat the Casio watches. I have one from 20 years ago that still works. Its been lost under water, buried, and still works.

For the money, they are hard to beat. For the price, you aren't too heart broken if it gets destroyed, and they are tough.

Suunto watches are really nice - I have a Core and it's awesome! Not sure about price on all models but I believe they're right around that price range.

Edit: Not sure about the "tactical" factor of them though...worth checking out.

the only bad thing ive heard about the core is that the battery runs out quite often

Had mine for a little over a year and it hasn't given me any problem...but I also very rarely use the light or storm alarm which I assume would help drain it.

    Does it keep dual time?

    What makes a watch 'Tactical'?
Being black? A piece of picatinny rail hard-mounted on the bezel? Molle loops on the strap?

If you want a slim watch that has plenty of useful features, is durable, and (most importantly) keeps accurate time, I'd recommend looking at 'Field' watches rather than 'Tactical' watches.
Field watches are durable, waterproof, and practical. Plus they're generally lower-profile and they don't have all of the uncomfortable knobby edges that a 'tactical' watch would, nor do they have the unnecessarily complicated faces covered with dashes and numbers you'll probably never use.

    A couple of examples:
    http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-HML-H69419363-Khaki-Field-Green/dp/B0001WO7G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425994274&sr=8-1&keywords=automatic+movement+field+watch

Manual wind: no battery to worry about.

    http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BM8180-03E-Eco-Drive-Stainless-Canvas/dp/B000EQS1JW/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1425994687&sr=8-11&keywords=automatic+movement+field+watch

Automatic movement: No battery and no need to wind it, as long as you wear it regularly.

They're not 'tacticool' but they're functional and low-profile.

I've got a Suunto as well, nice and light yet pretty massive.

I didn't mean tactical as in press a button and seal team 6 pops out of the band, I was meaning tactical as in the fact that it can keep dual time, be comfortable to wear and not get in my way, altitude feature would be nice

Yep, keeps dual time in addition to a ton of other features. Here's the one I have.

I like that one, also looking at the core black and core black military edition

Ah, ok. I missed the dual time requirement in the original post.
In that case I'll put in another vote for the Suunto Core. Victorinox makes a nice dual-time model as well, but it's analog rather than digital.

Here is one I got for sale. Not dual time, but still a big, rugged dive watch.

    $325 or best reasonable offer.

As long as its black its tactical right;) pretty much every version of the G-shock has what your looking for. And it wouldn't cost a set of tires.
IMO its just a watch, and I can buy a Silva compass for $15, then look at the sky and have my weather report.
But that's just me, that much money for a watch is much better going toward several other habits, primarily one that goes boom. So. To each his own.
P.S. I do here good things about the Suunto.

All my last comment aside, here is what I currently use Casio G-shock RISEMAN solar powered w/24 time zones, altimeter, baro(when it feels like working), picked it up used for $30 from REI at one of their sales. It was totally a steal for that price.

Adjusts to time zones including advancing or retreating the date. Built in slide rule. Stop watch. No dual time but will change time zones easily. Sapphire crystal. $309 and free shipping in link below. That's a great price for this watch.
