Hello. I have retrofitted manual hubs on my 04.

I'm tearing into my front end this weekend. And I'd like to permanently activate the pass. side front axle sleeve. Basically to rule out the possibility of a failed ADD actuator leaving me on the trail without use of both front axles.

With the older model vacuum actuated ADD systems, it was possible to do this.
    Here's a link: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/add/

Just curious if anyone knows about a technique for the newer electronic ADD systems? I've been searching the webz all day without any luck...

Just energize the actuator to the lock position and then leave it.

    Thanks for the response.

I figured as much at what you recommended. But is there any in-depth info more on how to achieve it? I have the push button 4x4 on/off.

I think the method you posted in the link will be your best bet, similar systems, just need to figure away around the digital stuff.
Also, "Man! Upgrayedd didn't tell me they'd be puttin me in no damn coffin with tubes and shiyt!!" "Go away! 'Batin'!"

Well don't want to sound like a dick or nuthin, but you're fucked up; you talk like a *** and your shit's all retarded.

But for real. I don't think that'll work on account that it was vacuum actuated that made it easy enough to defeat. I'm pretty surprised it haven't been mentioned on the webz anywhere.

haha, yep, spot me a *** :rasta:

I looked into swapping out my font diff with an older non-ADD one but $ told me it would not happen without some major work. Now it looks like I'll just take the easy route and install a ARB locker. I'll follow this thread just to see what others have done" And there was a time in this country, a long time ago, when reading wasn't just for **** and neither was writing. People wrote books and movies, movies that had stories so you cared whose ass it was and why it was farting, and I believe that time can come again!"

Best guess would be to engage 4wd then unplug the ADD connector from the transfercase. That will keep the ADD from unlocking once the tcase shifter been disengaged from 4wd.
