This is true^^^ I'd say the difference is the same as 1st gen vs second gen taco's

Haha..... I call 2nd gens....Tacundra's....or sometimes I also refer to them as sequels, you know like a sequel to a movie. Almost always a sequel to a good movie(first gen) will end up being terribly stupid(second gen)

The man who placed the deposit on this truck contacted me as a result of this thread, hopefully I helped him make a decision he will be happy with, drove truck and really looked it over, rust not an issue, I figure it has to be in the top 1% as far as condition and miles for any double cab tacoma from 01 to 04. I know people say that was too much to pay, but hey, they bring it. I will allow the new owner to show and tell upon delivery of the truck. It was one sweet truck.

Small world sometimes. I for one don't mind paying a higher price since the resale will be good as well. Better than buying a POS and it plummets like a rock.

I just wanna give stumpman a BIG thank you !! he's a great man, I was lucky enough to have a fellow member helping me out by inspecting the truck and giving me his honest when he told what he saw and toughed about the truck it made my decision a lot easier. Thank you again Mike!! Btw I'll post pictures once I get the truck delivered.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
How small are parking spaces where you live? I can fit my 1997 F250 Powerstroke, long bed, extended cab into parking spaces just fine. Sometimes parking it can be a hassle, but it can be done.

Parking Southern California more specifically Los Angeles. Every parking spot is pretty much a compact space. The worse parking space are at Hospitals which happen to be all of my customers for work.

I don't care if the thing only has 1 mile on it, no way i would pay 19 grand for a 11 year old truck.

You stole a truck sir!!!! I'm about to sell my old 2003 prerunner DC for $15k with 83k miles. These trucks sell for crazy money here in Texas. So upgrading to a 2004 4x4 with 18k for $3,500 more was a no brainier since I got it for $18.5k out the door.

You are making me think I should flip mine and get the newer body style. It is so well kept though I feel like I won't get this lucky twice!

That's the beauty of supply and demand, you probably could not pay that if you wanted to,supply would not allow you to. People pay $14-15k for 100k mile trucks, $9 to 10k for 200k mile, so seems reasonable to me
