My 09 passenger airbag light came on today. This was after my 13 year old bounced and roughhoused while in the seat. Not sure what happened.

I checked under the seat and didn't see any obvious connector issues.

Any ideas? Hope it is not serious....

    Thanks

    Steve

Turn it off with the key for a minute, then turn it on again. Was your truck involved in the airbag recall?

I have a double cab so there is not key to turn the airbag on/off that I know of.

I will look for the recall info and see if it pertains to my truck. I have an 09 double cab v6...

    Might just be "snagged"

The sensor on my 09 is so sensitive my briefcase has set it off before.

I saw jump up and down in if a few times :p

Could be the spiral cable recall needed. The airbag light coming on was symptom of needing the recall done where they replace the spiral cable in the steering wheel. The kids play in the seat may have just been coincidental.

Oh wait, you said passenger light, IIRC the one for recall was just for main air bag light. Might still be worth checking out tho...........

    Reserected from the dead.
I'm wondering if the sensor itself in the seat is bad? The jumping up and down makes me wonder.

I do agreee that in more cases than not, the issues are the connectors. Did you actually remove the connector and reconnect?

One thing nice about the SRSystem is that once the issue is corrected, there is no need to reset the computer. It does it on its own with the next start up.
