Yeah, I was wondering about that fret spacing on the end there with it being only 24 3/4" scale. but still a beaut! I didn't notice the neck pickup was a humbucker at first, very cool! That think must scream!

Those are some killer looking guitars! I love that 3-piece body! And I love the idea of an older Martin with the cutaway! I bet that thing sound amazing! That reminds me I should take some nice photos of my gear.

Yeah, PRS doesn't make a bad guitar ever. I was eyeballing the SE's for a quick PRS fix but when this model came out my jaw dropped and reading the specs told me this was the guitar I've been waiting for since I first played a PRS in the mid 90's. But still want to get another PRS for alternate tuning.

I'm not sure if they're doing tours right now or not. One place on their website says they are and one place says they aren't due to construction going on at the facility. But you better check on that and go do it if you can!

    But in the meanwhile:

Gorgeous! I love that carve on the upper horn and body! And while I typically like having fret markers on the board, I love that clean look of just the marker on 12.

    "Blondie"

This was made to order from a local luthier:

At the time he did not carve the violin tops of the Les Paul I wanted, so I asked him for this:

I want a Les Paul sounding guitar in the shape of Telecaster...

Honduran Mahogany solid 1 piece body
Honduran Mahogany solid 1 piece neck
Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard (Yes and its gorgeous)
    AAA Flame Maple body top/headstock
    Amber aged finish top
2 Seth Lover PAF Seymore Duncan Pick ups
    Gibson Stop Tail Bridge
2 Volume, 2 Tone and Gibson Treble/Rhythm Pickup selector
I use Ernie Ball Power slinky strings, 11's

    Pure tone!

Wowwww super late on responding here.. haha my bad. But yea, I've heard conflicting news whether they're open or not too. I think they're expanding (again) at the moment so I'd definitely check. Maybe I'll make the trip up this summer and stop by at my favorite crab house on the way back :hungry:

If you're ever in the DC area and are still looking for an SE, let me know. I think I'm going to be selling mine here soon..

Has anyone ever sold a guitar? I'm looking to sell my PRS but I'm not sure how much to ask. I'm thinking $500 obo, but since I bought it new for $850 I don't know if that's too high/low :notsure:

I think they're about $700 new now, but they discontinued the SE Singlecut model I have a few years back.

Selling a new guitar that you bought is gonna hurt a little bit, but expect to get around 60-65% of what you paid for it. Lots of times, I will go on ebay and see what they are going for and price accordingly.

Yea, that's what I figured. I tried looking online but since it's a discontinued model that was only made for a few years, it's kinda hard to find any for sale :/ maybe I'll list it at $450 obo. That's about 55% of what I paid 7 years ago.

I haven't even played the damn thing in over a year. Maybe a couple dozen times total in the 7 years I've owned it. Lol

EDIT: And on that note, anyone looking for a lightly used PRS SE Singlecut? :D

Yea, I meant to last night but then got caught up watching the hockey game.. haha i'll throw some up tonight. :D It's in great condition IMO. I keep my apartment temp/humidity regulated at 72 degrees and 45% humidity. Only scratches are a little belt rash, but they're all on the plastic electronics cover, not on the finish/wood. Overall it's an amazing guitar for the price and since it has no modifications to it. Comes with a hard shell case, and i'll throw in the strap since it has strap locks and i have a separate strap for my acoustics lol

Haha yea, I'm thinking I may get serious about it and put it up on TGP soon. Could use the money more than I play the thing.

Looks awesome man! I love the instruments that PRS makes.. Definitely one of the top builders IMO. Custom 24?

Yeah custom 24 with a few twists like a 25.5" scale length (PRS is normally 25), 20" fretboard radius and custom Seymour Duncan pickups designed for Mark Holcomb of Periphery. This thing plays and sounds amazing!

Nice! sounds like it'll play well. I hadn't realized Periphery had become a big name band.. they're from about 20 minutes from where I grew up (and about 30 minutes from where I live now..). I remember listening to them back in high school lol

Yeah, Periphery's gotten pretty big. All three of the guitarists have a signature model with their respective guitar sponsors. This one I got is the Mark Holcomb PRS. While I've only had about an hour of time with it since I got it, so far it plays and sounds amazing! only thing I need to get used to is that 20" radius on the fretboard...man is it flat! but it's making my fretting hand get a little clumsy above the 12th fret. I think the action is a little high too which might also be contributing to that, but I'm going to give it a setup tonight and hope that relieves some of that difficulty.

Sounds like a plan. 20" is pretty shallow.. I think my SE is somewhere in the 12" range haha Sounds like those weird "U-necks" that Ibanez used for a while that had the flat spot along the center of the neck. I've played some acoustics that have a double radiused neck (makes the neck sort of like a rounded trapezoid) and it takes a while to get used to, but once you do they feel pretty awesome. Congrats on the purchase!

I think my SE will be officially going up for sale this evening. :spy:
