I've been looking for a bench seat as well, my understanding is that its a pretty direct bolt in, just be sure to get the seat belt latches as well.

I don't see how it wouldn't. You have more room behind it but you'd want to look at the length of the seat. if you get the bench out of the same truck, it should be the correct length. You might have to check the bolt patterns of the mounts to see if they line up correctly. If they don't you'll have to fab some new mounts up, which isn't hard.

It can be done pretty easily, you will have to plug 2 bolt holes with some extra bolts and some regular cabs use a smaller width seatbelt buckle so you might have to switch out the wall mounted parts with some from a donor reg cab or buy some of these. You could fund the project simply by selling your center console, those things go for a premium

I got lucky and found a buy it now on eBay for $70 but before that I watched them go from $180 to $250 for a couple of months. A brand new one costs around $300.

Edit: those prices are for the 01-04 console, the earlier model goes for much cheaper.

so make up your mind, do you have a bench seat and now want bucket seats with a console or do you have a bucket seats with a console and want to convert it to a bench seat?

if you have bucket seats with a console and want to convert it to a bench seat then people will line up to swap seats with you since everyone with a bench seat wants bucket seats and console.

by the way, the 60/40 bench seats are way more comfortable then they single bench with weak saggy springs and not enough foam cushion
