And this is a problem why? It won't engage if you are going too fast anyway.

I've seen more questions asking for solutions to a problem that doesn't even exist on this website than any other.

If he can't handle 4x4 sell it and buy a prerunner.

Why do people need to be tampons , especially to a brand new forum member ?

Maybe the guy doesn't realize that it's OK for the truck to shift on the fly or that doing so won't hurt anything .

Everybody was a newb once .

Yeah nothing will explode the transfer case will not fall out and the front axles will survive. Maybe he did you a favor you'r suppose to use it at least 10 miles once a month year round. No there is nothing in the manual about ice, sand, loose gravel, just use it once a month.

This is the way I roll. If I haven't used it in a while, I'll engage 4wd every now and then on a long straight road, or on any type unpaved ground. From what I understand, you just really don't want to go parallel parking or 3-point turns in 4WD on dry pavement.

Yeah it's hard as hell on your tires. The ones that think it will destroy some thing have little confidence in the design of their truck. There is no radius on a public road that will cause your drive line to bind up but yeah you can on a tight turn in a parking lot. Driving your truck over rocks etc. puts far more strain on the drive line than using 4WD on the pavement. Shoot I can feel mine bind some times on packed snow but I don't stop and take it out of 4WD drive 2 feet and put it back in.
