Hey guys/gals. So I got the truck washed up really nice yesterday. I notice a bunch of really bad scuffs/scratches on the driver's side rear bed. I know what caused it too come to think of it, my apprentices leaning up against it with their carharrts and jackets on grabbing their tools or parts from the box. I'm pretty damn upset, people don't think nor have any respect. I noticed it from 75 feet away in a parking lot when the sun was shining on it.
I'm useless when it comes to body work. Could someone tell me if this is fixable without taking to a shop? If so how? Thank you very much.

Take it to a detail shop and have them buff it out.

Then take your apprentices to the wood shed.

I would think some swirl mark remover would do the trick, no?

How much would that cost do you figure? Yeah no kidding, not to mention they let the tailgate slam down once too making it pop off the hinge on one side. I'm like dude have some bloody respect, there's a camera back there too. Argh

I'm not sure, I've never done body work before. Do you need a buffer power tool or just rub in the swirl remover with a rag?

You will need to put some time and effort in, but this would probably do the trick, you will need:

    PORTER-CABLE 7424XP 6-Inch Variable-Speed Polisher
    http://www.amazon.com/PORTER-CABLE-7...orbital+buffer

    with some of these

    Chemical Guys BUFX104HEX5 Hex-Logic Light-Medium Polishing Pad, White - 5.5 in. - $7.45
    http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys-..._bxgy_hi_img_z

    and some of this
    Meguiar's G19216 Ultimate Polish - 16 oz. - $7.47
    http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G1921...sliquid+polish

    and finish with this
    Meguiar's G18216 Ultimate Liquid Wax - 16 oz. - $17.24

A product that I really like to use is 3M Finesse-It. It's a bit pricey, but it does amazing work of small scratches and paint blemishes. I have been using it for years on black/white vehicles and it does a great job. More often than not I can accomplish the repairs with just a application sponge and microfiber towel to polish afterwards.
