It's almost spring time here in the midwest so it's time to start preparing for the warm weather fun. I bought some cheap water shoes once and they only lasted a few outings. They were the sandal type from wally world. I've been using old running shoes but they stay wet too long among other problems. Now I want to get something better. I use them for fishing and kayak/canoeing. I'm looking at adidas climacool and others that are similar. I want a shoe that can put up with walking around in the river and will drain quickly but doesn't fill up with rocks and sand. It would be nice to be able to transition to walking/hiking in the same shoes but that's a lot to ask. Anybody out there have something to recommend?

You already found it, Adidas Climacool. Used these on my destination wedding at the beach and they were super comfortable, I was able to go in and out of the water with no problem and walk around a lot without them tearing up my feet.

I got a pair from Columbia sportswear last summer. Basically an aquasock that is more shoe like. Can cross streams with slimy rocks no problem.
