Does anyone know if you can swap the radio in a 2009 truck to a 2008 truck?

Step bars, billet grill with custom TOYOTA, MB Quart RSI 216 components, Hifonics ZXi 4410, RAAMmat deadened doors/back wall/roof covered with ensolite , 24" Magnaflow muffler, hand polished stock exhaust tip, tinted, OEM TRD Bilstiens all around with 1/4" spacers up front to level it out. Sport wheels added.
Are you talking about upgraded features type of swap?

I've read somewhere on here you can. But depending on the features of the new deck, you may not be able to use them. Need a little more info on the decks you plan to swap with.

I am talking about taking a stock radio out of a 2008 truck and putting the stock 2009 radio in..... one reason is that it has the Sat button.

there are several different stock radios...be specific.

Just because the new one has SAT capability, does not mean you will have SAT radio. There are other things in the truck that have to be there in order for it all to work.

I know it will not be satellite read, but there are some things you can install on the truck that will allow it to work when it has the SAT button. my 2008 truck has the 6 cd changer.... the 2009 one that I would be putting in is the one taht is the only model i know of on the 2009 trucks.

I am looking for a 2009 toyota stereo for my 2008, my 2008 doesn't play MP3 files, put it on eBay. I don't want aftermarket, I don't like getting my stereo stolen.

Hello Everyone, I am new to this site, but have read posts off and on about different topics. I am looking for a stock radio that is the JBL version.

    My story:
I bought a 2008 tacoma last year, saved up to get the options I really wanted...got home to only realize that there are 3 different versions of the Stock radio...single disk, 6 disk (mine), and the grand daddy 6 disk JBL amplified version with the RDS. I am looking to switch out my 6 disk head unit with the JBL version. I used to be a stereo installer, so running wires and tearing apart dashes, center consoles, etc. If I can find all the parts (wire harness, amp, sub, and Head unit), I would really like to fix this mistake made!

sorry if this is more information than needs to be posted, but google searches have come up short in finding much about anyone selling the JBL headunit (let alone the other parts).

EGTaco, do you still have the unit for sale?

    Hi EGtaco,

I am interested. give me some more details about it (pics, condition, etc.)

Also, if you have taken this one out, what are you using now?
like the stock radio, it works for me, so once when you changed this out, did you loose the steering wheel controls?

Since I am new to the site, i dont know how to touch base with you directly, let me know if i need to provide an e-mails or number to write/talk with you.

Plus, I am going to need to find out what else I need... I know the version you have requires things like a sub and amp...none of which I could locate on the web (with the minor searching that I did).

Hey Rizz.....shoot me an e-mail and I will send you infomation and pictures directly. I took the stock unit out about a month after I got my truck and now using the Kenwood DNX8120. I need GPS for work and play so I upgraded. Still working on putting new speakers in the truck. I have them but I have just not had the time to do the work.
