Fog lights or no fog lights that is the question...

    So I want to be different than everyone else where I'm from, and I did the whole lifted tacoma with nice wheels thing previously and though it indeed was and is beautiful I decided to sell it and stay stock with this tacoma. I'm keeping it stock height, keeping my stock rims, all I did was change the tires and added a few cosmetic things such as TRD skid plate, shorter billet antenna and so forth. Now I'm wondering if I should add fog lights to her? Lots of people here have the fogs with no skid plates so with me wanting to be different I got a skid plate. That being said Im on the fence about adding fog lights or not or just leaving them out and staying with the skid plate only. What do you guys think? Fog lights or no fog lights?

    I run my fogs all the time. They illuminate the road just ahead of the truck and makes it SO much easier to see if there's debris on the road at night. Headlights alone shine at a spot well ahead of the truck so you have a lot less time to react.

    Sounds like a problem. I guess I can say mine is different. My fogs are now my turn signals.

    works on secondary roads but not at hwy speeds. I only use mine in low vis conditions. Once I get on lighted hwys I turn them off to save the bulbs. I would want too add them if I did not have.

    Reserected from the dead.
    The first time you have to drive in actual fog or blizzard like conditions, you will be glad you got the fogs.

    I put mine in because I thought they just looked good. When I had to drive home in foggy conditions and could see nothing but white running the regular headlights, switched to fogs, I was very happy.

    I think I actually have had to use them 4 times in 3 years. Boy was I happy and will have them on all my rides from now on.

    I would get the Foglights. I changed mine to yellow and run them all the time during the day as daytime running lights.

    most vehicles on the road today the fogs are essentially useless, just for looks and don't work worth a damn for seeing the fog line on the road or looking at edges of trails

    not on the tacoma. the stock tacoma fogs rock the house

    ymmv if you go aftermarket

    Aloha Sistah.
    Your needs are probably different than others on the mainland. I've been lucky enough to visit the Islands many times. You won't ever need fogs for blizzards but they may help at night in a rain storm. You also have many slow speed, windy roads, and fogs would help. Especially if you off road. I personally think fogs just look great on trucks.

    Look into the Retrofit source LED fogs, they made a huge difference compared to the factory fogs.
