that's cool, I haven't fished in a long time unfortunately. Need to take the wife out before it gets too cold.

Yes I have one but it isn't installed yet. If I do it myself it would have to be in my dad's barn, 2 hour drive away. Otherwise I'll have pay my buddy for his shop to do it and I don't have the funds for that right now. I also am not sure if I'm going to mount it to a front hitch or not. I'd have to get a front hitch if I go that route which is just more money lol. Some day it will happen

This year for Christmas we went to central California to visit my wife's family and see more of what we don't have in Indiana (ocean and mountains). The following are pictures of my first few adventures:

    20161226_114357.jpg
View of the mountains from her hometown, Exeter CA. They farm a lot of produce there as you can see in the pic above. That day we took a trip to Three Rivers for some pizza and a little mountain hike, pictured below:

    20161226_134618.jpg 20161226_140502.jpg 20161226_142128.jpg 20161226_142528.jpg 20161226_144353.jpg

The next day I went alone back to the same spot to climb to the top of the mountain I saw. To gauge my elevation I would take a picture of of a camping circle down below which was an easy reference point. It was a little higher from where I started the hike.
    20161228_093533.jpg
Free range cows running away from me as I drove to my start point

    20161228_094742.jpg
A view from the bottom of where I was heading.

    20161228_101502.jpg
My first turn around to see the camping circle. It's at the end of the clearing to the right

    20161228_104304.jpg
    again, higher up

    20161228_104508.jpg
The peak is much closer now

    20161228_104555.jpg
These are the bushes I was climbing though and under. It started out much easier and wide but eventually just became a small game trail I followed up

    20161228_104937.jpg 20161228_105856.jpg 20161228_110720.jpg 20161228_112242.jpg
above and to the left is more of the washout/game trail I followed, to the right you can still see the circle in the middle of the picture and a little bit of the ridge trail.

    20161228_114238.jpg 20161228_114447.jpg 20161228_114702.jpg20161228_121844.jpg 20161228_114927.jpg
above is evidence of bobcat prevalent in the area.

    20161228_115112.jpg 20161228_122239.jpg 20161228_122425.jpg 20161228_122651.jpg 20161228_123327.jpg 20161228_123633.jpg 20161228_123837.jpg
Finally high enough to see snow capped peaks across the neighboring hill

    20161228_123858.jpg
My lunch spot and final stop as it was getting late and I had not brought any over night gear and Everyone was expecting me back by 4. It got dark at 530 so I decided not to risk it. I was probably about an hour and a half from the peak but the view from here was breathtaking. Maybe next week I will attempt it again.

I've been really busy and traveling for my company, the Mrs was ill for a while but things are better now. Other than that things are going pretty well. In central California at the moment visiting her family. How are you guys?

Thanks, I'm at around 160k currently.

We're doing really well, Thanks! For the first time since we've been married, we BOTH got a full week of vacation time AT THE SAME TIME! So Christmas to New Years was BIG FUN!

definitely need to make an update here, we're buying our first home! I'll throw some pictures up later and give a more detailed update. Sadly the truck has been left alone for a while but I'll get back to it. Possible an off road day this month

The wife and I now have been living happily in our new house since spring. We also have had a bit of a lifestyle change, less city dwelling and more farmer like.

    20170802_174107[1].jpg

    We have some chickens:
    20170816_195648[1].jpg

I built a little personal shooting range:
    20170824_201405[1].jpg

We have fruit and nut trees:
    20171016_170234[1].jpg

I also got a promotion, and all in all life has been busy. Next weekend I'll be going to the annual Black Mountain off road tacomaworld meet, there will be pictures following that as well. What's new with any of you who still follow my thread?
