78 here, the line in the sand for me is the big screen glued onto the dash of the 2024's.

This whole thing is insane to me. I just came from a good drive in my 2019 , no tune , totally stock except a tonneau cover and nice stereo , and I’m thinking I must be to old or something is wrong with me . The truck is totally fine power wise . Totally stock it will smoke any of my normal 80’s cars. Back then a Camaro with a small block Chevy had less power, and that was considered a fairly quick ride back then. I see all kinds of YouTube stuff with people driving a Tacoma like a sports car . The Toyota small trucks were never fast and powerful . But they were always reliable as hell and could climb through the woods like no body’s business. I know Toyota does listen to customers , but it seems like everyone is loosing there way. The genetics of our truck were originally meant to be different. I just hope they don’t try ,and reinvent the wheel and come up with a wheel that doesn’t roll as well. Change is inevitable but sometimes when you mess with too much it doesn’t work out like you think .
