Makes sense, good thinking. I keep a spare stock outer hoping that when I break something in my steering that it will just be that.

I’d like to, but I think slide rack really probably needs Howe tc pump & truck is my DD and I can’t sink 3k into it right now

I mean the inners and racks fail long before the stock outers anyways, 37s or not. That's been my experience as well as many others. I've been running them on 35s no adverse issues.

Now the just wanting to spend funds on different hobbies I get that. Especially if you'll get more use and enjoyment on a regular basis from those other hobbies.

I still don’t know what my long term rack goal is, but I don’t feel like these stronger outers with stock inners and stock rack makes the most sense for trying to baby the rack as much as I can on these tires. Should be wheeling soon

Trying to baby a rack isn't really going to happen. When 33s destroy them pretty easily and stock inners will bend either way. I will say you're going to need it whatever route you go unless you go nuts and get that Spindle by camburg.

There are reasons 37s haven't been on my truck yet. I wanted everything else to be where it needed to be to handle them (sans front wheel bearings). I didn't want to have to worry with all the weak links failing even more and spending money on band aids waiting to get beefed up or keeping the truck rolling.

I went through the whole what route to go thing like you and spent almost 2 yrs now collecting parts. It took me a while to figure out which routes I wanted to go and to save and acquire what was needed. I won't talk you into any route with steering or beefing up other than there are quite a few different options and all have their pluses and minuses. I went back and forth a bunch on what to do and researched all kinds of things for months.

Can't wait to see the pics of it wheeling. Then you can get an idea of what all you're going to have to chop . That's going to be the fun project.

there is absolutely no comparison to how I wheel my truck versus how you wheel your truck, I hear everything you’re saying and you’re probably not wrong, I get it, but we are completely different people behind the wheel and I have been more reliable and robust on 35s than many guys have ever been on 33s, I know I’m playing a dangerous game, hence my plan to keep a spare rack with all stock inner and outer’s on standby. You can literally make or break your parts with how you treat them on the tough obstacles this is true for 35’s and obviously more so with 37’s. I’m committed to tubbing, hence my main reason to pick up welding - I just don’t have the time to bite off that project right now but it will happen. Also added front super bump spacers in the meantime which might help a tad

I'm not just comparing me. I'm talking about guys I've seen pamper their rigs and still have issues. Hell I've never bent an inner yet I've seen several bent from guys who wheel a lot less and a lot more gingerly than I. I know whenever I hit a trail the potential for failure with how and what kind of trails I choose to do, which is why I try and not tunnel vision my experiences. For the front my "style" of wheeling and how much I've wheeled locked and all has held up to some harsh punishment.

I don't want to do a ton of tubing so I got the JD inner fenders so I can limit the amount of work needed and tubing needed to just the front cab corner area. You and the other guys that are willing to tub the whole thing my hat's off to ya that takes some major commitment.

Big project done. I did board and batten on our entire entry way & hallways. Finally painted it today and it’s done. Lots of work, learned a ton

I just cruised through every page and I gotta say, I really love that rear bumper of yours. I currently have a C4 swingout on my 2017+ and I've been on the hunt for something a little...less.

10/10 would recommend. It’s definitely Anti c4-swing out. I highly recommend you build one or have someone build you one like mine. Love being tucked high & tight.

Exactly Singles rear was inspiration for mine that I had a @snowsk8air2 build for me.
A the clearance gained is awesome.
B the weight loss is the biggest factor as well.

Who wants to buy my truck? 29k OBO. Emphasis on the OBO. 149k miles, 2008 TRD OR 5:29 gears with rear REM polishing to gears, factory rear e locker, front e-locker from Harrop/eaton, brand new 37’s with beadlocks, full belly skids sliders front and rear bumper brand new synthetic winch. Archive hammer hangers w cross tube, rear shock relocation, diff armor 2nd owner clean title in hand. Growing family - would like to make some changes. Truck has no mechanical issues aside from no windshield squirters hooked up. Will trade for early 2nd gen tundra 4wd crew cab short bed ideally with higher mileage and stock-ish

Thanks man. I have a lot of cleaning up to do on the truck to entice buyers & im sure with 35’s it would be more enticing to a wider audience but I think I’ve created something I can’t really enjoy for a while. A tundra for the family and adventures would be much better suited in our household

Oh shit, growing family as in expecting a 3rd? Tundras are good trucks get one with the 5.7 it's a huge difference compared to the 4.7.

Glws, I'd post it up on as many offroad geared websites as possible get as much traffic as you can. Hate to see it go but such is life right.

Get the Tundra and you could get a beater trail rig and a trailer later down the road :D:boink:

Yessir number 3 is coming in may & I want something I’m not hesitant to throw 3 kids and wife in for an adventure. My truck no fits that niche very well because of the size. It can still haul us all down the interstate reliably but definitely not as comfortably as a tundra. Thanks buddy. I should revise my asking because I think 29k is a reach - hence why I said emphasis on the obo. I’m going to work on emptying out the truck and cleaning it up, will likely list at 25.750 obo

Well congrats on the 3rd. I totally get the throwing the family in on the adventure. Get the kids involved young and enjoyable and it'll stick with them their entire life. The tundra will be 100x better for what you need.
